Oman to impose partial road closures for IRONKIDS race in Muscat

Royal Oman Police say parking will be banned along Al Shati Street route from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM on Friday.

MUSCAT : Royal Oman Police (ROP) on Thursday announced partial traffic closures in Muscat on Friday afternoon to facilitate the “IRONKIDS” children’s race, held as part of the Ironman World Championship events.

In a statement, the Directorate of Relations and Security Information said parking will be prohibited on both sides of roads adjacent to the race route during the event.

The race is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM from Al Kharijiyah Roundabout, proceeding along Al Shati Street in Al Qurum, passing near Al Shati Roundabout, before returning along the same route to the finish line on Al Shati Street.

Authorities said the children’s race will continue until 5:30 PM and urged motorists to cooperate with traffic instructions and use alternative routes where necessary.
