MUSCAT : Oman’s domestic tourism sector attracted around 14 million visitors in 2025, underscoring its expanding role in economic diversification and non-oil growth, a senior tourism official said on Sunday.
Speaking at the “Together Forward” forum, His Excellency Azzan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of Tourism at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said domestic tourism has emerged as a major pillar of the sector, supporting local economies across the Sultanate.
He said increased internal travel has boosted activity for small and medium-sized enterprises, hospitality operators and related services, helping to spread economic benefits beyond major urban centres.
