MUSCAT – Oman’s Tax Authority said on Thursday that tax revenues reached RO 1.3 billion in 2025, meeting state targets, while tax compliance improved sharply, with the number of returns filed rising 37% from the previous year.

The authority said it recorded strong performance indicators in meeting revenue targets set under the state’s current revenue estimates for administrative units.

On compliance, it said around 353,000 tax returns were submitted during 2025, reflecting stronger voluntary compliance among taxpayers.

Officials attributed the increase in filings to expanded tax awareness efforts and measures taken to improve services and engagement with taxpayers.
