MUSCAT : The two-day conference opened under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, and in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education. The event was attended by ministers of education from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, senior undersecretaries, and members of the State Council and Shura Council.

Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibani highlighted the importance of the conference as a high-level platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange among GCC countries, regional and international organizations, and technology companies.
“The conference reinforces the pivotal role of education in shaping the future,” she said, noting that education is undergoing a historic transformation in the age of artificial intelligence (AI), making it a shared human responsibility and a cornerstone for sustainable development.
She emphasised that advanced technologies, particularly AI, are no longer merely supportive tools but are actively redefining learning, innovation, and human capital development. “The GCC countries are pioneers in digital transformation and educational innovation. Their progress has strengthened their position among leading nations in education according to international standards,” Her Excellency added.
The Minister underlined that teachers remain the cornerstone of any sustainable education system. “Their role has been redefined as leaders in lifelong learning. Investing in teachers is the most important and sustainable investment for the future of nations,” she said.
The conference comes amid rapid global transformations in the education sector and challenges related to technology, educational leadership, and sustainable learning. It aims to redefine the role of teachers as agents of transformation, leaders of change, and architects of the future. The event also promotes high-level dialogue to anticipate global changes, empower competencies, and foster innovation to ensure quality and sustainable education policies.
