MUSCAT – The Authority called on concerned entities to submit the updated plans and all required documents via email to the Environmental Emergency Centre at its headquarters.

It further clarified that the submitted documents must include general company information demonstrating its capability to respond to oil and/or chemical pollution incidents and its best practices in incident management, along with a copy of the company’s commercial registration certificate.

Companies are also required to submit an emergency plan for combating oil pollution (Tier 1 and Tier 2). This plan should include a list of equipment and materials used in oil pollution response and their locations across the Sultanate of Oman, a list of hydrocarbon dispersant chemicals registered with the Environmental Emergency Centre, and details of personnel involved in spill response with emergency contact numbers.

Additional requirements include a list of entities served or contracted by the company, management quality certifications such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, an inventory of equipment, devices, and safety and rescue tools used in spill response, any other relevant certifications, and the availability of a chemist if the company is equipped to handle such incidents.
