Oman’s Supreme Judicial Council holds first meeting of 2026, commends high case resolution rates

The Supreme Judicial Council held its first meeting of 2026 to review high rate of case resolution, stability of judicial rulings, and the acceleration of digital transformation initiatives.

MUSCAT : Chaired by His Excellency Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Council, the Council initiated the proceedings by highlighting the regularity of judicial and legal work, high case resolution rates, the consistency of judicial rulings, and the accelerated implementation of digital services across courts, the Public Prosecution, and the Notary Public.

Members were briefed on the progress of courts, the Public Prosecution, and the newly operational Investment and Trade Court, which aims to establish a specialized judicial framework for investment and commercial disputes, strengthening the business environment and providing robust guarantees for investors.

The Council also discussed key issues related to the administrative, financial, and functional affairs of judges and Public Prosecution members, as well as topics concerning judicial organization, legal reforms, and the enhancement of judicial service quality.
