MUSCAT : The year-long initiative targets governmental and private institutions, aiming to strengthen preventive health practices, reduce the spread of diseases, and promote sustainable healthy lifestyles.
The campaign was inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, and seeks to raise awareness among employees, visitors, and the wider community. It emphasizes the importance of disease prevention, early detection, and the adoption of positive health behaviours through a variety of educational programs, including lectures, field health examinations, and the distribution of accessible awareness materials.

The campaign covers a broad spectrum of health topics, addressing common challenges such as obesity, diabetes, endocrine disorders, and the benefits of periodic check-ups. It promotes healthy nutrition through the ‘Proper Nutrition for a Better Life’ initiative, highlighting the risks of obesity and malnutrition, the interaction between food and medicine, and the optimal use of antibiotics.
Physical activity and injury prevention are also focal points, with specialised programmes addressing osteoporosis, spinal injuries, sports injuries, and diabetic foot care under the slogan ‘Your Path to Safe and Comfortable Steps’. First aid awareness, including the proper handling of fainting, strokes, burns, and nosebleeds, is an additional component aimed at enhancing community readiness for emergencies.
Family health initiatives form a key part of the campaign, covering premarital medical examinations, fertility services, safe childbirth programs, early detection of cervical cancer, and eye health under the slogan ‘The Eye is a Trust… Taking Care of It is Our Responsibility’. The campaign also promotes organ donation, highlighting its humanitarian and medical significance and encouraging community solidarity.
Field activities within targeted institutions will include simple health screenings – blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index measurements – along with direct medical consultations by specialized staff, reinforcing the importance of prevention and early detection as pillars of public health.
Dr. Iman bint Abdullah Al Hinai, Head of the Therapeutic Nutrition Department at Khoula Hospital and Chair of the Campaign Organising Committee, said the initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, particularly the goal of building a healthy and informed society. She noted that each health specialty will be allocated specific days within the campaign to maximize impact and allow participants to receive personalized guidance.
The campaign forms part of a broader series of community initiatives led by Khoula Hospital, including Al Nahda Hospital and Al Wattayah Gynaecology and Obstetrics Complex, demonstrating the Ministry’s commitment to integrated health services, improved quality of life, and the Sustainable Health Development Goals.
The launch ceremony was attended by His Excellency Suleiman bin Nasser Al Hajji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Administrative and Financial Affairs, alongside senior officials and employees from Khoula and Al Nahda hospitals.
