MUSCAT – The regulation aims to establish a clear framework for protecting physical assets and properties of institutions and individuals from risks that could compromise safety or disrupt the continuity of operations and services.
Developed by the TRA’s Regulation Development Team, the draft regulation draws on a comprehensive study of Oman’s physical security market, relevant data analysis, and international best practices. It also aligns with the Sultanate’s Personal Data Protection Law and addresses potential risks related to internet-connected security devices.
The regulation forms part of a broader security and safety framework to ensure the quality and integrity of physical security products and services. Its implementation will be coordinated with relevant authorities, in line with Omani laws, to maintain high standards of protection and safeguard critical operations and services.
