Tehran: According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency’s Communication Department, Erdogan stressed during the phone call that Turkey is ready to play a facilitating role between Iran and the United States to reduce tensions and seek solutions to existing differences.
The talks come amid escalating friction between Iran and the US, with Washington reportedly threatening a potential military strike against Tehran, raising concerns across the region.
In a related development, Erdogan is scheduled to receive Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi later today, following his arrival in Turkey on an official visit.
