MUSCAT – These medications, intended for individuals dealing with obesity or excessive weight gain, work by reducing appetite, increasing the feeling of fullness, and limiting fat absorption.
The Ministry emphasized that safe and effective use of such medications requires a step-by-step approach under medical supervision. Individuals should first consult a specialist physician to discuss their medical history and follow the treatment plan prescribed by the doctor. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels, adherence to a healthy and balanced diet, and engagement in physical activity are also essential components of the weight-loss process.
Patients are further advised to follow proper medication storage instructions and to contact their doctor immediately if any side effects occur. Sharing medications with others is strongly discouraged. Any adverse reactions should be reported promptly, for example via the QR code provided with the medication packaging.
