MUSCAT – Oman expressed its condolences to France on Tuesday following the capsizing of a tourist boat off the wilayat of Muttrah in the Muscat governorate, which resulted in the deaths of three French nationals, the foreign ministry said.
In a statement carried by the state-run Oman News Agency, the sultanate conveyed its “sincere condolences and deepest sympathy” to the French government and people, as well as to the families of the victims. It also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.
The foreign ministry said it appreciated the efforts of rescue and ambulance teams that responded to the accident and confirmed that investigations are under way to determine the circumstances surrounding the capsizing.
