MUSCAT – Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Shehhi, Assistant Head of the Office of the Governor of Musandam, told the Oman News Agency that the project is scheduled for delivery on 31 January 2026. The official opening will follow in coordination with relevant authorities, enabling the centre to begin its role as an integrated cultural and knowledge hub serving the community across the Musandam Governorate.
Al Shehhi highlighted that the centre will provide a unique platform combining tradition and modernity, hosting events, seminars, cultural evenings, art exhibitions, and open-air theatre. The facility is expected to promote local heritage, contemporary creative production, and cultural tourism in Khasab and the wider governorate.
The centre will also support innovation and empower youth and local talents through specialized laboratories, shared workspaces, and training programs aimed at transforming ideas into economically valuable projects. These initiatives will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and align with the objectives of Oman 2040 Vision.

Programmes and activities at the centre will adopt an integrated approach through partnerships with key entities, including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Ministry of Education, and Oman Sail. The offerings will span cultural, educational, sports, recreational, and economic activities, positioning the centre as a family-friendly, educational, and investment destination.
Covering a total area of approximately 10,500 square meters, with a building area of 2,733 square meters, the Musandam Centre is designed as a multi-purpose complex serving the local community in education, culture, environment, sports, tourism, and entrepreneurship. The facility will include an education and innovation building under the Ministry of Education, a cultural building supervised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, retail spaces managed by Musandam Municipality, water sports facilities by Oman Sail, an open theatre, and a dedicated children’s area.
The project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening cultural and innovative infrastructure, supporting national talent, and fostering an environment conducive to creativity and investment in Musandam.
