MUSCAT – The Sultanate of Oman is hosting the second edition of the Middle East Space Conference in Muscat, underscoring the country’s growing role in the regional and global space sector. The three-day conference runs from January 26 to 28, 2026, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr Kamil bin Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

The conference witnessed the signing of two cooperation agreements. The first was between the Sultanate of Oman and the United States of America, aimed at enhancing collaboration in the peaceful exploration of outer space. The second agreement was signed between Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) and OQ Gas Networks Company to provide satellite services for monitoring and supervising gas network lines.
Organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with Novaspace, the conference focuses on highlighting the evolution of Oman’s space landscape. Discussions cover national space policies, space agency strategies, satellite programme development, ground segment systems, funding mechanisms, and frameworks for international cooperation.
The second edition builds on the success of the inaugural conference. He noted that the event has attracted more than 450 senior decision-makers, representing over 190 entities from more than 20 countries.
The conference brings together government officials, representatives of space agencies, senior executives from the space industry, investors, innovators and academic institutions, with the aim of contributing to shaping the next phase of growth for the Middle East’s space ecosystem.
