MUSCAT — Investments in Oman’s communications and information technology sector reached RO 1.2 billion in 2025, with RO 65 million directed toward artificial intelligence projects, His Excellency Eng. Saeed bin Hamoud bin Saeed Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology said on Monday.
The figures were announced during the ministry’s annual media briefing, highlighting the Sultanate’s growing focus on digital transformation and advanced technologies as part of its long-term economic diversification strategy.
Officials said the investments covered a wide range of areas, including telecommunications infrastructure, data centres, cloud services, digital government platforms and emerging technologies, with artificial intelligence increasingly viewed as a key driver of productivity and innovation.
