MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has appointed Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Busaidi as Minister of Heritage and Tourism, according to royal decree issued on Monday.
The appointment places Al Busaidi at the helm of a key portfolio central to Oman’s economic diversification drive, with tourism and heritage preservation identified as strategic pillars under Oman Vision 2040.
Prior to his new role, Al Busaidi served as the Governor of Musandam, where he oversaw development initiatives in the strategically located northern governorate, including infrastructure upgrades, tourism promotion and local community development.
