MUSCAT : The LIFT International License is one of EFMD’s most advanced recognitions, granted only to organisations that demonstrate excellence in designing and implementing learning experiences that translate into real and sustained change. The framework focuses on measuring impact across the entire learning value chain, including strategic clarity, programme design, quality of implementation, and long-term outcomes for individuals, organisations, and society.

The licensing framework serves as an international benchmark aimed at transforming learning into tangible results, strengthening resilience, adaptability, and competitiveness in the present and future. The achievement coincides with the Academy’s fourth anniversary since its establishment, underscoring its growing role in delivering learning experiences that generate impact at individual, institutional, community, and economic levels.

Commenting on the milestone, Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Academy, said the achievement represents a significant national milestone. He noted that the Academy was established four years ago under the high patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik with the objective of enhancing the impact of national leaders across sectors in support of Oman Vision 2040. He added that obtaining the LIFT license reflects the Academy’s distinguished role in leadership development through its programmes, dialogues, and global research, positioning leadership excellence as a pillar of national growth.

For his part, Dr. Ali bin Qasim Al-Lawati, President of AASTMT, described the recognition as an exceptional achievement within the Academy’s first four years. He said the license stands as a credible international endorsement of the quality of the Academy’s programmes and the tangible impact they have on national leadership development, institutional readiness, and contribution to the national economy.

He added that the license affirms the Academy’s commitment to preparing leaders capable of anticipating global transformations, empowering executives in the new economy, and supporting proactive institutional decision-making. According to him, this strengthens Oman’s competitiveness in leadership and management at both regional and international levels, while supporting sustainable institutional transformation through programmes aligned with community and national needs.

From EFMD’s side, Dr. Martin Mohrle said the organisation is committed to building leadership communities that deliver real and lasting impact at both individual and societal levels. He noted that the Royal Academy of Management has emerged as a key pillar in Oman’s national transformation by building a sustainable leadership ecosystem of Omani talent capable of leading social and economic change.

He explained that the Academy follows an integrated learning approach that engages participants from selection through post-programme stages, combining selective enrolment, participatory learning, reflective practice, and sustained alumni engagement to maximise long-term value and impact.

In a related statement, Khalid bin Ali Al-Shaqsi, Director of AASTMT and International Cooperation Affairs, said the Academy underwent a comprehensive evaluation covering policy, programme design, implementation, and impact at individual, institutional, and national levels. He added that the LIFT license confirms the Academy’s alignment with international standards and reflects Oman’s growing pool of leaders equipped with the flexibility and capability to lead change in an evolving global environment.
