MUSCAT : The alert is in reference to Royal Decree No. 111/2025, which implements mandatory premarital medical examinations.
The Ministry clarified that Omanis intending to marry, whether to Omani or non-Omani partners, who have already completed or plan to undergo premarital medical examinations at approved private health institutions must follow specific procedures to ensure official accreditation of their results.
According to the Ministry, individuals must first undergo the required examinations at a private health institution accredited by the Ministry of Health. Once the results are issued and medical consultations are completed, applicants must obtain a certificate confirming completion of the examination procedures, duly stamped by the attending physician and the health institution.
The certificate must then be submitted to the Directorate General of Private Health Institutions at the Ministry of Health headquarters (old building) or to the Private Health Institutions Department at the Directorates General of Health Services for stamping and official approval. The approved form should subsequently be attached to the Notary Public electronic platform (Tawtheeq).
The Ministry of Health stressed that premarital medical examination certificates will not be considered valid unless they are officially approved by the designated authorities.
