Muscat – Chevrolet Spark EUV has successfully completed the climb and descent of Jabal Akhdar, one of the most demanding mountain routes in Oman. Known for its steep gradients and sharp bends, this road is usually driven by strong SUVs. The drive proved that the Spark EUV, an electric urban vehicle, is also capable of handling real mountain conditions with confidence.

The drive was carried out by Mr. Yousuf Al Abdali and Mr. Rubaiz Khan. The Spark EUV started the journey at 75 percent battery and ended the descent at 36 percent. During the downhill stretch, the driving range increased due to regenerative braking, showing how the car can recover energy while coming downhill and add back useful range, rising from 122 km to 155 km after the descent.

All through the drive, the Spark EUV showed smooth power delivery, stable control, and reassuring handling on curves. The vehicle managed both the climb and descent comfortably, giving the occupants a safe and confident driving experience.

This achievement shows that electric vehicles are practical for daily life in Oman, not only in cities but also in challenging terrains. It also supports the shift toward cleaner and more sustainable mobility in the Sultanate.
