MUSCAT : Oman’s Ministry of Health has urged individuals planning to marry to promptly complete mandatory premarital medical examinations, following the issuance of a Royal Decree making the tests compulsory.
In a public notice, the ministry called on couples intending to marry during the current period to visit the nearest accredited health institution to undergo the required medical screening. The examinations must be completed and an official medical examination certificate obtained to comply with the new regulations.
The ministry said the directive has been in effect since the issuance of the Royal Decree and stressed that adherence is essential before proceeding with marriage formalities. It added that health institutions across the Sultanate are authorised to conduct the examinations and issue the necessary notifications confirming completion of the tests.
