MUSCAT : Omani police said on Thursday they had contained unrest involving a group of expatriate workers at a private company in the Wilayat of Izki, after reports of vandalism and disruption to work operations.
The Al Dakhiliyah Governorate Police Command, working with the Muscat Governorate Police Command and other police units, intervened following a gathering that led to damage to residential facilities and several vehicles, police said in a statement.
Authorities said the group also prevented some workers from accessing their workplaces, prompting the deployment of the Special Task Force and concerned police formations under an approved security intervention plan.
