Muscat: The large-scale practical exercise is being conducted under the supervision of the National Emergency Management Committee, simulating the response to a severe weather event marked by heavy rainfall that disrupts populations and essential services across the Sultanate.
The exercise is being implemented with the participation of national committee sectors and the Muscat Governorate Emergency Management Sub-Committee, supported by military, security and civil authorities. It aims to evaluate coordination mechanisms, field response efficiency and decision-making under emergency conditions.
Key participating entities include the Royal Oman Police, Ministry of Defence represented by the Sultan’s Armed Forces, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, and the Civil Aviation Authority. Several civilian ministries are also involved, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Information, and the Public Services Regulatory Authority.
