MUSCAT : Speaking at the announcement, Sheikh Ahmed bin Muslim Al Kathiri, Governor of Al Wusta, said the festival forms part of broader efforts to revitalise the local economy, strengthen tourism activity, and position the governorate as a promising destination on Oman’s tourism map. He highlighted the role of such events in supporting small and medium enterprises, while celebrating the cultural and heritage legacy of the people of Al Wusta.
The Central Winter Festival 2026 will feature a packed calendar of cultural, recreational, sports and heritage activities, alongside popular markets and artistic performances designed to appeal to diverse segments of society and attract visitors from within and outside the governorate.
Key highlights include a shooting competition, artistic concert, camel race, beauty contest, as well as special programmes for Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr, in addition to a range of events spread across various states of the governorate.
