KOCHI : Renowned Malayalam actor, screenwriter, director and producer Sreenivasan died on Saturday at the age of 69, marking the end of an era in Kerala’s cinematic and cultural landscape.
Sreenivasan had been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness at his residence in Udayamperoor. Following a sudden deterioration in his condition, he was shifted to a hospital in Thrippunithura, where doctors confirmed his death on Saturday morning.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential creative voices in Malayalam cinema, Sreenivasan was celebrated for his incisive wit, grounded realism and socially conscious storytelling. Through a career spanning several decades, he reshaped popular cinema by blending humour with sharp social commentary, leaving an indelible mark as both a performer and a writer.
