MUSCAT : The total number of passengers passing through Muscat, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm airports reached 12,353,007, compared to 12,153,212 during the same period in 2024, reflecting sustained demand for air travel despite mixed trends across individual airports.
Muscat International Airport continued to handle the bulk of air traffic, receiving 10,833,646 passengers by the end of October 2025, marking a 1.1 per cent increase year-on-year. However, the number of flights through the airport declined by 4.7 per cent to 76,880 flights, compared to 80,636 flights in the same period last year.
Strong growth was recorded at Salalah Airport, where passenger numbers surged by 9.7 per cent to 1,450,140 passengers, up from 1,321,622 a year earlier. The number of flights also rose by 6.1 per cent, reaching 9,438 flights by the end of October 2025.

In contrast, Sohar Airport witnessed a significant decline in activity. Passenger numbers fell sharply by 72.3 per cent to 18,557 passengers, compared to 66,879 in the same period of 2024. Flights through the airport also dropped by 62.4 per cent, with only 218 flights recorded, down from 580 flights last year.
Meanwhile, Duqm Airport maintained a largely stable performance. Passenger traffic stood at 50,664, almost unchanged from 50,656 passengers recorded a year earlier. The number of flights edged down slightly by 1.5 per cent to 512 flights, compared to 520 flights during the same period in 2024.
The statistics also highlighted nationality-wise passenger movement through Muscat International Airport in October 2025. Indian nationals topped the list of the most active passengers, with 170,313 travellers, including 85,669 arrivals and 84,644 departures. Omani nationals ranked second with 112,834 passengers (55,306 arrivals and 57,528 departures), followed by Bangladeshi nationals with 43,509 passengers, comprising 23,988 arrivals and 19,521 departures.
