MUSCAT : Oman recorded a sharp drop in temperatures across several regions over the past 24 hours, with Saiq registering the lowest reading at 3.1 degrees Celsius, data from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) showed on Friday.

The CAA said cooler conditions were observed widely across the Sultanate, reflecting a noticeable winter chill. Yanquil recorded 11.6°C, while Al Qabil, Nizwa and Ibra posted temperatures of 12.8°C, 13°C and 13.3°C respectively.

Other areas, including Bidiyah, Haima, Al Mazyonah, Ibri, Bahla and Muqshin, reported minimum temperatures ranging between 13.6°C and 14.4°C, according to the authority.

The CAA did not issue any weather warnings but advised the public to remain cautious during early morning hours, particularly in elevated and desert areas where temperatures tend to fall sharply during winter months.
