Royal Oman Police urges motorcyclists to follow safety rules and ride responsibly

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has reiterated its ongoing call for motorcyclists to prioritise safety and adhere to traffic regulations, reminding riders that “safety starts with you” before setting off on the road.

MUSCAT – As part of its continuous awareness efforts, the ROP highlighted key safety measures that motorcyclists should follow, including wearing a helmet and proper safety clothing, exercising caution at intersections, remaining alert to other vehicles, and ensuring that motorcycle lights are functioning correctly.

The ROP also warned against a number of dangerous and illegal practices frequently associated with motorcycle accidents. These include riding without a valid licence, overtaking vehicles at high speed, performing stunts, using a mobile phone while riding, and operating a motorcycle without a licence plate.

The police emphasised that following safety guidelines is essential to preventing accidents and ensuring that motorcyclists reach their destinations safely.
