MUSCAT : The CBO urged all residents to exercise caution and refrain from sharing any banking or personal information under any circumstances. This includes:
- PIN
- One-Time Password (OTP)
- Card details, including the security code (CVV)
- Online or mobile banking login credentials
- Personal identification information
The Central Bank stressed that licensed banks do not request such information over the phone or through any unofficial communication channels. It added that the Maal card will be issued strictly through approved and secure banking procedures, with all announcements made only via official bank platforms.
The CBO called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious calls or attempted fraud immediately to the Royal Oman Police via the Direct Line: 80077444.
