MUSCAT : The inaugural TAS Interschool Badminton Tournament 2025 ended with a spectacle few expected but everyone felt, a battle of voices as fierce as the battle of rackets.
While ISG eventually walked away with the championship and the Ever-Rolling Trophy, it was the electrifying cheer squads of ISG and ISM that defined the atmosphere of this first-ever edition.
Across two high-energy days, the courts echoed with chants, claps, drums and slogans, as students transformed the badminton academy into an arena of adrenaline. ISM and ISG were locked neck-and-neck till the very last match, but in the stands, their supporters were already deep into their own showdown, out-cheering, out-dancing and out-energising each other with unstoppable enthusiasm.

The final stages were nothing short of cinematic. As rallies grew tighter and the scoreboard refused to favour either side, the cheering sections became the heartbeat of the tournament, pushing players to dig deeper with every shout. ISM’s trademark synchronised chants brought waves of motivation, while ISG’s contingent countered with sheer volume and infectious rhythm.
Their spirit didn’t go unnoticed. The special Nataraj-sponsored Cheerleading Award, meant to honour the most vibrant cheer squad, was claimed by ISG, whose unwavering energy reached its peak during their team’s dramatic comeback in the final stretch.
The event was powered by strong support from partners and sponsors, including Badr Al Samaa as Healthcare Partner and Hyundai as Automotive Partner. Associate sponsors Supa Sportsman, Modern Business Enterprise LLC, Oman Refreshments, Easy Store & Easy Care, Cumin Caterings, Kosmos Badminton Academy, and Maple Graphics also played key roles in making the event a standout success.
Organised by The Arabian Stories (TAS) in partnership with Morning Stars Badminton Club, the tournament saw nearly 150 matches and 150 participants. But amidst the smashes and serves, the real story was in the stands: friendships strengthened, school identities celebrated, and students discovering that true sportsmanship is as much about supporting as it is about competing.
