Bank Muscat extends support to Sayyid Abbas Golf tournament

Bank Muscat supports the prestigious Sayyid Abbas Golf Tournament, reinforcing its commitment to promoting sports, youth engagement, and community development across Oman.

MUSCAT– In line with its commitment to promoting sports and community-centric activities, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services providers in the Sultanate of Oman, extended its support to the prestigious Sayyid Abbas Golf tournament. This year’s tournament witnessed the participation of around 130 of the top golfers in the country.

 During the award ceremony, Saleh Mohammed Al Maaini, Deputy General Manager – Capital Regions, Bank Muscat, gave away prizes to the winners in different categories. Bank Muscat places great emphasis on supporting initiatives aimed at contributing to the Sultanate’s progress and development across different spheres, particularly sports activities for the youth such as Sayyid Abbas Golf tournament which witnesses great turnout annually.

During his speech, Saleh Mohammed Al Maaini, Deputy General Manager – Capital Regions, Bank Muscat, said: “Bank Muscat is always keen to enhance its role in supporting sporting initiatives and contributing to their progress. It is also a great honour to participate in the Sayyid Abbas Golf Tournament for the past consecutive years. We continue to look forward to opportunities like these whereby it can play an active role in encouraging Omani talent and in supporting our local communities. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate this year’s participants and we are very happy and proud to partner with Ghala Golf Club to the support the success of this distinguished tournament.”

As part of this strategy, Bank Muscat supports many sports activities. It has previously extended support to different sports activities in the country as part of its social responsibility initiatives. The Bank’s Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programs in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of the Bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure and provide green spaces throughout the Sultanate of Oman. The facilities developed as part of the programme are often used as a venue for other social activities by local communities, leading to stronger social bonding and positive behaviour among young people as well as the development of talented Omani youth. Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme has so far benefitted 223 teams with over 77,000 team members across the Sultanate of Oman.
