MUSCAT – This transfer will cover the governorates of Musandam, Al Buraimi, A’Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Wusta.

The signing of these agreements is part of the government’s approach to enhancing institutional integration in the management of the solid municipal waste sector and achieving the goals of governance and environmental sustainability.

The agreements aim to enhance the quality and efficiency of municipal services and ensure their management in accordance with the highest modern technical and environmental standards. This contributes to building more sustainable and cleaner cities and a safe and healthy urban environment.

The agreements stipulate that the governorates will begin gradually assuming the responsibility of supervising waste collection and transport operations from containers starting from 1 December.

For its part, be’ah Company will continue to manage and operate its technical facilities, which include engineered landfills, transfer stations, and facilities for treating healthcare waste and hazardous waste. It will also focus on developing circular economy projects and enhancing the efficiency of resource management and benefiting from waste as a sustainable economic resource.
