MUSCAT – The warning specifically targets two electronic charger brands: Belkin XCITE and Baseus, due to concerns over battery overheating, which could lead to fires and endanger consumers.
“In some cases, the lithium-ion battery in the portable wireless charger may overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers,” the alert stated.
The CPA explained that this action is part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard consumers from products that may compromise health and safety. The Authority continues to monitor markets across the Sultanate to ensure the removal of unsafe products and to maintain a secure consumer environment.
