MUSCAT : Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Basma Al Said has been elected as Regional Vice President for the Eastern Mediterranean (2025–2027) at the World Federation for Mental Health, becoming the first Omani to hold the position.
The World Federation for Mental Health, founded in 1948, is a global organisation focused on mental health advocacy, awareness and access to care.
Sayyida Dr. Basma, a prominent mental health advocate and founder of Whispers of Serenity Clinic, has led national and regional efforts to reduce stigma around mental illness and expand access to wellbeing support in Oman.
