MUSCAT : The voyage, which spanned 15,300 nautical miles and touched 15 countries and 24 ports across Europe, served as a floating symbol of Omani heritage, friendship, and global peace, embodying the nation’s Vision 2040 goals of cultural diplomacy and sustainability.
An official reception was held at the Said bin Sultan Naval Base under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan bin Salem Al Habsi, Minister of Finance. The ceremony featured visual presentations showcasing the ship’s achievements and musical performances by the Royal Oman Navy Band, celebrating the crew’s remarkable accomplishments throughout their journey.





Upon docking, His Excellency and distinguished guests were briefed on the voyage’s route, objectives, and the many ports visited. In his address, His Excellency Al Habsi praised Shabab Oman II as a “floating ambassador of peace” that reflects Oman’s enduring values of friendship and coexistence. He highlighted the ship’s role in projecting Oman’s rich maritime legacy and its vision for a harmonious global future.

Rear Admiral Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, commended the voyage for carrying Oman’s message of peace wherever it sailed. “Amjad Al-Bahar 2025 embodied the spirit of Oman’s maritime history, spreading goodwill and fostering connections across nations,” he said.
Lieutenant Colonel Issa bin Salim Al-Jahouri, Commander of Shabab Oman II, noted that the ship’s journey fulfilled key objectives under Oman Vision 2040, particularly the pillars of human development, society, and environmental sustainability.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, military leaders, members of the State Council, ambassadors, military attachés, and other dignitaries.
During the Amjad Al-Bahar 2025 voyage, Shabab Oman II earned international acclaim, winning several prestigious awards. These included the title of “Best Ship in Crew March” at the maritime festival in Le Havre, France; second place overall in sports competitions in Dunkirk; third place among category (A) sailing ships; and fourth place overall in the Tall Ships Races’ second stage. The ship also received honors in Scotland, Norway, Denmark, and Germany, including the International Friendship Award and the Sea Ambassadors Cup at the Amsterdam Sailing Festival.
