MUSCAT – The decision, issued under the Civil Society Law (Royal Decree No. 14/2000), aims to enhance awareness of psychological services and support the professional development of psychologists in the Sultanate.
The association aims to achieve the following objectives:
• Promoting psychological awareness and the importance of mental health services.
• Highlighting the contributions of Omani psychologists to behavioural and psychological sciences.
• Encouraging research, publications, training courses, and conferences in psychology.
• Providing scientific consultations to individuals, governmental entities, and private institutions.
• Professionalising the work of psychologists according to internationally recognised standards.
The Association will be managed by a Board of Directors composed of 5 to 12 members serving two-year terms, with the possibility of one re-election. Founding members will nominate the first board at the inaugural General Assembly.
The association’s resources will include membership fees, approved donations, revenues from activities, government subsidies, and other funds authorised by the Ministry.
