MUSCAT : Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Muscat on Wednesday for his first state visit to the Sultanate of Oman, marking a significant milestone in the longstanding relations between the two nations.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik personally received President Erdogan upon arrival at the Royal Airport, reflecting the depth of mutual respect and the strategic importance of the visit.

The visit aims to further strengthen cooperation across key sectors, including trade, investment, defense, energy, and tourism, as both countries seek to expand their economic and diplomatic ties in line with their shared vision for regional stability and growth.

During the visit, President Erdogan and His Majesty are expected to hold official talks focused on enhancing bilateral partnerships, signing a series of agreements, and exploring new avenues of collaboration under Oman Vision 2040 and Türkiye’s economic outreach to the Gulf region.

Oman and Türkiye have enjoyed close relations for decades, with growing trade volumes and mutual investments underscoring their partnership. The visit comes amid deepening engagement between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Türkiye, aimed at building a more connected and resilient regional economy.
