MUSCAT – The action follows a complaint filed by a consumer who stated that the establishment failed to fulfil its contractual obligations despite having received full payment for a service related to vehicle repair, maintenance, or sale. The consumer reported that, after paying the agreed amount, the company neither delivered the service nor responded to repeated attempts at communication, prompting him to seek legal recourse.
In response, Judicial Control Officers from the Directorate General for Consumer Protection in Muscat launched an investigation, collecting evidence, summoning both parties, and reviewing supporting documents. The investigation confirmed the violation and the establishment’s non-compliance with the Consumer Protection Law.
As a result, the case was referred to the competent legal authorities to proceed with further action.
An official from the Authority emphasised that the vehicle sector remains one of the most complaint-prone sectors in the Sultanate and stressed that the Authority deals with such cases firmly to ensure the protection of consumer rights.
