MUSCAT – As of Thursday, October 16, 2025, fishing and trading of kingfish will be permitted across the Sultanate.
The Ministry extended its thanks and appreciation to Omani fishermen for their cooperation and adherence to the ban, which is aimed at preserving fish stocks and ensuring the long-term sustainability of marine resources.
The Ministry also reiterated the importance of responsible fishing practices, urging fishermen to comply with regulations, including the use of rational fishing methods and observing the minimum legal size for kingfish of 65 centimetres.
