MUSCAT – The new guideline is designed to serve as both a regulatory and advisory tool, reinforcing the principle of shared responsibility between suppliers and consumers. It aims to promote a fair, transparent, and sustainable commercial environment in line with the broader goals of Oman Vision 2040.
The launch took place during the Consumer Protection and SMEs Forum, where the CPA presented the guideline as a working paper. The document outlines the rights and obligations of suppliers, setting clear standards for providing, advertising, maintaining, and handling goods, services, and consumer complaints.
By offering a unified reference for best practices, the guideline seeks to reduce commercial disputes and build greater trust in the marketplace.
