MUSCAT – A four-member student delegation from Indian School Al Ghubra comprising Naga Sai Suhas
Kamaraju, Asmitaa Mohapatra, Ayan Dasgupta, and Aarya Amit Paradkar participated in the
Round Square International Conference 2025, hosted in Dubai from 19th to 25th September by
The Millennium School, The Indian High School, and GEMS Modern Academy.

Themed “Beyond the Dunes”, the event brought together nearly 1,400 delegates from 155 schools across
28 countries, celebrating the Round Square IDEALS of Internationalism, Democracy,
Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. They were accompanied by the
Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh, and the Round Square Coordinator, Mrs. Noella Vaz.

The week-long conference opened with a spectacular inaugural ceremony highlighting Emirati
heritage through cultural music and dance. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Satish
Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India, Dubai, followed by Her Excellency Aisha Abdulla,
Director General, KHDA, UAE.

Each day of the conference was designed around a theme:
The Service Day at GEMS Modern Academy featured “Hello Zindagi” sessions with students of
determination and a spirited “Charity Souk” in aid of Dubai Cares. The Keynote speakers
included Mr. Laksh Maheshwari and Ms. Gulshan Karvana.

The Environmentalism Day at The Millennium School engaged students in Climate Fresk, Ghaf
tree planting, sand art, and natural fertilizer making, culminating in a Cultural Evening where
ISG students presented a lively Arabic dance.

The Adventure Day at The Indian High School began with an inspiring keynote by Mr. Sanjeev
Krishna and challenged delegates with treks through Wadi Al Shees Nature Trail and
collaborative team-building tasks.

A spirited Treasure Hunt at Festival Mall, themed around Service, Environment, and Adventure,
further consolidated learning and teamwork.
The Closing Ceremony reflected on the week’s experiences with cultural performances, moving
reflections, and the ceremonial handover of the Round Square flag to the next RSIC 2026 hosts
in Australia.

The conference not only showcased Dubai’s warmth and cultural richness but also inspired
young leaders to engage with global issues, strengthen international bonds, and commit to
building a more sustainable and compassionate world. The ISG delegation returned enriched
with memories, friendships, and a renewed sense of purpose as global citizens.
