Muscat – The system is currently located approximately 250 km off the coast of South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and is moving eastward toward the central Arabian Sea, continuing to weaken gradually and drifting away from the Sultanate’s shores.
Although the system poses no direct threat to Oman, the CAA warns of possible indirect impacts over the next two days (Wednesday and Thursday), particularly along coastal regions.
Expected impacts include sea waves ranging between 2 to 3 meters in height, especially along the coasts of South Al Sharqiyah, Dhofar, and Al Wusta governorates. There are also chances of potential seawater intrusion into low-lying coastal areas and creeks, especially during high tide.
The tropical system is forecast to weaken further into a low-pressure area, with wind speeds expected to drop below 17 knots.
