MUSCAT : The event will be hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and organised by the Research and Education Network (OMREN).
This year’s summit focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) as a driving force for transforming education and research, as part of national efforts to promote digital transition and innovation across vital sectors.
The summit offers new insights and motivates practical recommendations for developing education and research at the national level. It also highlights global practices in leveraging AI technologies to improve the quality of education and enhance the efficiency of academic and research systems.
The summit will provide an opportunity to interact with prominent specialists from the technology and education sectors through interactive sessions, workshops and technical presentations that will showcase success stories and experiences in utilizing artificial intelligence.
The summit will include a hackathon that will bring together students, innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers from different parts of Oman, offering them a competitive environment to devise digital solutions for the realization of the goals of digital transition and sustainable development.
The AI-based hackathon (Gemathon) focuses on four main tracks: smart education and learning technologies; research and digital analysis; educational sustainability and inclusiveness; and entrepreneurship and institutional innovation.
