Oman, Belarus to open embassies in Muscat and Minsk in landmark diplomatic move

The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Belarus have announced plans to open embassies in each other’s capitals, marking a significant step forward in strengthening diplomatic and economic relations.

MUSCAT : The decision was revealed during high-level talks held in Minsk between His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Both leaders welcomed the initiative as a practical move to deepen cooperation.

Speaking during the meeting, His Majesty the Sultan affirmed Oman’s support for the initiative, saying the establishment of diplomatic missions in Muscat and Minsk is a positive development for bilateral engagement.

President Lukashenko emphasised the strategic nature of the decision, calling it a pragmatic move aimed at supporting the growing momentum in trade and economic collaboration.
