The newly launched unit marks a significant milestone in the hospital’s pharmaceutical services. Developed and equipped over the course of a year, the unit was completed to the highest international standards and is now officially operational.
Designed to provide a specialised, sterile environment, the CIVA Unit prepares sensitive intravenous medications, including chemotherapy, antibiotics, intravenous nutrition, and other critical solutions. All processes are carried out under the direct supervision of trained pharmacists and technicians, ensuring the highest levels of precision, safety, and quality.
The unit aims to enhance patient safety, ensure dosage accuracy, improve treatment outcomes, ease the burden on nursing staff, and support the hospital in achieving and sustaining international accreditations, such as the Canadian Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions. In addition to its direct role in enhancing patient safety and improving treatment efficiency, the unit represents an added investment value by rationalizing the consumption of medicines and resources and increasing the efficiency of healthcare spending, which positively impacts the sustainability of services.
