Muscat – According to the Federation’s statement, if human trafficking is committed by a legal entity, the person responsible for its management will be subject to criminal penalties, provided it is proven they had knowledge of the offence.
“The legal person shall be held criminally liable for the offence if it was committed in its name and for its benefit, and it shall be subject to a fine of not less than RO 10,000 and not more than RO 100,000,” the Federation stated.
Additional penalties include dissolution of the legal entity, or the suspension of its activities, either wholly or in part, for a period not exceeding one year. This ruling shall apply equally to its branches.
