MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman is joining countries around the world in celebrating the International Day for Older Persons, which falls on 1 October each year.

This celebration embodies the values of respect and pride in the status of senior citizens as a fundamental pillar of the Omani social fabric.

The Ministry of Social Development continues its efforts to develop an integrated system of programs and services for older persons to meet their needs, protect their rights, enhance their quality of life, and ensure their active integration into the family and society.
