Muscat – The Shorin Kai Cup 2025 Dubai, scheduled for October 5, 2025, will see Bodhi Life Skills’ elite karate team compete against top martial artists from around the globe in both kumite (sparring) and kata (forms) categories.
Representing Oman, the team coached by Renshi G Kumar Coach (6th Dan Black Belt, Okinawa, Japan), includes Gopeshkrithik Parthasarathy, Darshan Srinivas, Athiksh Parthasarathi, Avanish Parthasarathi, Pranav V Nair, Rudra Vishal Sutar, and Gunit Siddharth Chaturvedi.

All team members, except Gunit, are currently students at Indian School Muscat, with Gunit studying at Indian School Ghubra International, demonstrating a strong balance between academic excellence and martial arts discipline.

In addition to coaching, Kumar will also compete in the Masters category, continuing to lead by example and showcasing the high standard of martial arts training offered at Bodhi Life Skills.
“It’s a proud moment for our team to represent Muscat and compete on such a prestigious international platform. These young athletes have shown incredible dedication, and we are confident they will carry the spirit of Bodhi Life Skills with honour and determination,” said Kumar.
Meanwhile, the academy will also field a Silambam team at the Qatar World Silambam Tournament 2025, taking place on October 3 in Doha. Silambam is a traditional Indian martial art known for its weapon-based techniques and flowing movements.
Trained by Kumar, the Silambam team from Muscat, comprising Akila, Sushmitha, Selvi, Kanimozhi, Shaswath, Vihashini, and Dekshitha, will participate in Individual Events, Combat (Sparring), and Group Performance categories. The tournament will bring together top Silambam practitioners from around the world.

These dual participations mark a significant milestone for Bodhi Life Skills, highlighting the academy’s growing presence in both regional and international martial arts circuits. It also reflects Oman’s expanding footprint in traditional and modern combat sports, supported by a vibrant multicultural community.
