Oman advances Vision 2040 as 11th Five-Year Plan nears final stage

The Executive Committee overseeing the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026–2030), the second executive plan under Oman Vision 2040, held its fourth meeting of the year.

MUSCAT : The committee held its fourth meeting of the year at the Ministry of Economy to review progress and outline next steps ahead of the plan’s launch in early 2026.

The meeting, chaired by Dr. Nasser bin Rashid Al Maawali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, reviewed the implementation status, completed milestones, and upcoming phases of the plan. Committee members discussed the achievements of the project management office and technical teams responsible for preparing the plan.

So far, 14 technical teams comprising 281 members from more than 100 government, private, and civil society entities have contributed to the drafting process.

The committee stressed the importance of the coming phase, which will include a final review of strategic programs before the plan’s approval. Members also underlined the need to strengthen engagement with the wider community and stakeholders to ensure that the plan reflects national aspirations.

Set to begin implementation in January 2026, the 11th Five-Year Development Plan will play a pivotal role in driving Oman’s long-term Vision 2040 agenda, focusing on sustainable growth, diversified economic development, and greater community participation.
