MUSCAT – The refunds followed amicable settlements after the agencies failed to deliver services as agreed in their contracts.

The cases involved three consumers who had signed contracts with travel agencies for all-inclusive travel packages. In the first case, a consumer paid RO 2,814 for a package that included flight tickets and a tourist programme. However, the agency failed to implement the agreed programme and refused to issue a refund.

The second complaint involved a RO 1,440 package for a comprehensive tourism programme that was not delivered.

The third consumer paid RO 1,500 for services that were not provided, and faced delays in resolving the dispute.

Upon receiving the complaints, the CPA initiated legal procedures and communicated with the parties involved. This led to full refunds for all three consumers.

The Authority emphasised the importance of service providers adhering to the terms of their contracts and responding promptly to consumer concerns. It also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting consumer rights, promoting transparency in commercial transactions, and ensuring fair treatment within the local market.
