MUSCAT – The surge was driven by increasing demand for travel to Dhofar Governorate, renowned for its natural beauty, mild climate, and rich lineup of cultural and entertainment events.
Salalah Airport recorded a 13.2 percent increase in passenger numbers, with 562,561 passengers during the three-month period, compared to 496,936 passengers in the same period in 2024. Aircraft movement also rose by 10 percent, reaching 3,409 flights, up from 3,105 flights the previous year. Oman Airports attributed the growth to coordinated efforts to strengthen the airport’s position as a key gateway to Dhofar.

Sohar Airport also saw notable growth, with an 80 percent increase in passenger traffic between July and August 2025. The number of passengers rose from 6,495 in July to 11,691 in August, highlighting increasing regional interest in travel.
