Muscat: The Council of Ministers has reviewed the progress of the Government Digital Transformation Program (2021–2025), highlighting key milestones that have strengthened Oman’s position as a regional leader in digital innovation and artificial intelligence.
Among the program’s notable achievements is the launch of the unified national services portal, streamlining citizen and business access to government services. The Council also underscored the issuance of the Government Digital Transformation Regulation, which has accelerated the digitization of public services, with 74% of government services now fully digital.
In addition, the program has overseen the adoption of several artificial intelligence and smart projects, establishing Oman as a regional hub for data processing centers and AI algorithm development.

As a result of these efforts, the Sultanate has advanced to the 45th position globally and the 5th position in the Middle East and North Africa on the Artificial Intelligence Readiness Index, marking a significant leap in its international standing.
The Council emphasized that these achievements reflect Oman’s commitment to enhancing efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
